# Quickstart

> Create an Expira account, add or discover your first expiring assets, and make sure alerts reach you.

**1. Create your account**

Sign up at [dashboard.expira.dev](https://dashboard.expira.dev). The first-run setup creates your organisation and your first team, and turns on email alerts.

**2. Add your assets**

Choose one, or both:

* **Connect a provider.** Go to **Integrations** and connect [AWS](https://docs.expira.dev/integrations/aws.md), [GitHub](https://docs.expira.dev/integrations/github-token.md), [GitLab](https://docs.expira.dev/integrations/gitlab.md) or [App Store Connect](https://docs.expira.dev/integrations/app-store-connect.md). Expira finds what expires and checks again every day.
* **Add an asset by hand.** Go to **Assets** and add its name, type and expiry date. Add a renewal link and notes so whoever renews it knows where to go.

**3. Give each asset an owner**

Put the asset in a team so the whole team sees it and gets its alerts, or make it private to you. See [Core concepts](https://docs.expira.dev/concepts.md).

**4. Choose when and where to be alerted**

Go to **Alerts → Delivery**. Pick how early to hear (30, 15, 7 or 1 day before expiry) and which channels to use: [email](https://docs.expira.dev/alerts/email.md), [Slack](https://docs.expira.dev/alerts/slack.md), [Discord](https://docs.expira.dev/alerts/discord.md) or a [webhook](https://docs.expira.dev/alerts/webhook.md).

**5. Send a test**

Press **Test** on any connected channel. You should get a sample alert within a few seconds. If you don't, the button shows the error.

> [!TIP]
>
> Alerts go out once a day at 08:00 UTC. Every sent, failed or skipped alert is listed under **Alerts → History**.
